 APPEAL FOR DONATION

 Every civilized society strives to educate and develop all its children, irrespective of individual background. This is one of the major pre-requisites to secure the future of the community. Among the children, there are those who have the misfortune of having some disability. They also require education and with patience, they can be educated and developed through scientific modern methods, and made self-sufficient with zeal to contribute to the society’s goal rather than being a burden. Children unable to speak or hear are no less intelligent than any one else. All that is needed is special education through special methods.

Hassan Academy Special Education was established in January 1993, by some humane individuals. So far, this humble initiative has resulted in education and rehabilitation of about 800 special children. However for lack of resources 750 children couldn’t be admitted. At the moment 170 children are admitted, out of which a large number is financially supported, wholly or partly by the Institute. The expenditure on their boarding, lodging, education, training, uniforms, medical attention, etc is met from donations received from philanthropists like you.

Hassan Academy Special Education is registered with Provincial Directorate of Social Welfare, recognized by Federal Ministry of Social Welfare & special Education, and documented by University of The Punjab, as a “Good practicing model of Inclusive Education.”

Its accounts are regularly audited by M/s, M. Hussain & Company, Chartered Accountants, and are submitted to the concerned authorities.

The average expenditure on a resident child is Pak Rs, 60,000/= per year, and in case of non –resident, it is Rs, 36,000/= per year. At present in the two hostels at Rawalpindi and Islamabad 60 to 70 poor children are accommodated and the Institution aims to add capacity by opening more  new centers and spread the good work in other localities . The total expenditure on the existing capacity would be approximately Pak Rs, 7.6 million during the year 2008-09.
